Welcome to my page!
I am Associate Professor at Sapienza University of Rome and John H. Dunning Fellow at Henley Business School, University of Reading.
My research focuses on how governance and institutional settings shape strategy, behavior, and performance in firms, with particular attention to multinational enterprises.
Drawing on cases ranging from family- to state-owned firms, from private to public organizations, my work investigates how ownership structures, institutional contexts, and inter-organizational relationships shape economic outcomes. I am especially interested in the tensions between formal institutional architectures and the strategic agency of organizations, with implications for internationalization, innovation, resilience, and misconduct.
My research has been published in journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Law and Economics and Regional Studies.
I am an Associate Editor of the Journal of Industrial and Business Economics and serve on the Editorial Board of Global Strategy Journal.
I teach Industrial Organization, Econometrics and Management Control Systems in Undergraduate and Graduate courses.
I also actively collaborate with companies and public institutions through advisory projects, teaching-related partnerships, and student engagement initiatives.
I write Globitaly, a short-form series (in Italian) on how Italian multinationals operate globally https://globitaly.substack.com/
I am a cinephile and a keen football fan.
